About

History: Conservation Districts were established under the Soil Conservation Act in response to widespread land degradation during the Dust Bowl era. The Eagle County Conservation District (ECCD) was formed in 1951 and operates as a Title 35 special district.

Who We Serve: ECCD is governed by a locally elected and appointed Board of Supervisors dedicated to serving agricultural producers, water rights holders, and landowners within district boundaries.

What We Do: We support responsible land stewardship by providing natural resource management and conservation best practices through:

  • Programs, projects and research
  • Grants and cost-share opportunities
  • Education and outreach
  • Advocacy for landowners through policy and legislative engagement
