When you think about your biggest pet peeve in prospecting, sales calls, or client interactions, what comes to mind?

Many clients and colleagues mention how frustrating it is when prospects or clients don’t respond in a timely manner—or worse, require constant follow-up or even ghost completely. Yet, some of these same people don’t respond promptly to texts, calls, or emails themselves. Do you see the connection?

The same goes for receivables. Is delayed payment another pet peeve of yours? If so, ask yourself: Do you pay your bills, contractors, or employees on time? Are your taxes handled promptly? The way you operate not only sets the example—it shapes the energy you attract.

Next time you feel frustrated by someone slow to respond or pay, take a moment to look inward. If you're on the other side of the fence, try shifting your habits. Even a simple "Thanks, but no thanks" or "Not now" is better than silence. And make it a point to pay others the way you want to be paid.
