VVP Announces 2026 Chairwoman’s Award and Member of the Year

Ahead of 23rd Annual Success Awards

Chairwoman’s Award

Strong communities are built on solid foundations, sustaining them through successful times and difficult ones.  During a challenging year, the Vail Valley leaned heavily on its small-town roots, varied outdoor opportunities, and environmental stewardship. But it’s the people who truly make our community one to celebrate, and we’ve got a cornerstone in this year’s Chairwoman’s Award winner, Michael Brown.

Mike has called Eagle County home for more than 30 years and has built both a meaningful career and a lasting legacy rooted in service, leadership, and community connection. Over his 35-year tenure with Alpine Bank, he has contributed to the strength of the local business community but has also consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to the people and organizations that make the Vail Valley thrive. His willingness to step in, collaborate, and share his business acumen across so many organizations has made a meaningful and lasting difference throughout the region.

“In selecting this year’s Chairman’s Award recipient, it was clear that Mike embodies the spirit of service and collaboration that defines our community,” said Vail Valley Partnership Board Chairwoman Tiffany Ingoldsby. “His long-standing commitment to Eagle County – both professionally and through extensive board service – has had a profound impact on our region. Mike leads with integrity, humility, and a true passion for helping others succeed.”

Member of the Year

Katie Bristow, co-owner of Black Tie Ski & Bike Rentals is the recipient of this year’s Member of the Year Award, chosen by VVP staff. Chris Romer, Vail Valley Partnership President/CEO, was excited to honor Bristow with this award. “Katie is a shining example of an involved, committed VVP member. She's a dedicated local business owner who works to ensure both the social and economic vitality of our valley, balancing exciting new endeavors with the preservation of the small-town character and charm of the Vail Valley. In short: she is committed to community.”

The Partnership’s VP of Strategic Initiatives, Maren Cerimele, echoed Romer’s sentiments. “Katie embodies what it means to be a local in Eagle County, from her leadership in building an inclusive, welcoming business culture at Black Tie Ski & Bike Rentals and founding a local chapter of Hot Mess Express, reflecting both her entrepreneurial drive and her genuine care for the community. She brings an authentic mix of professionalism, creativity, and warmth to everything she does, creating inspiring connections and community engagement. I’m delighted to call her a friend and “Member of the Year!”
