This Open Enrollment Period, Take Action Now to Connect Your Employees to Your Employer-Sponsored Health CoverageThe Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) is partnering with the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy & Financing (HCPF) to share this important message with Colorado Employers: Nationally, over 25 million people were disenrolled from Medicaid after the federal government called an end to the Public Health Emergency. Colorado continues to track with the February 2024 estimate of a Medicaid net enrollment reduction of 519,000 members from Health First Colorado (Colorado's Medicaid program). Many people who disenrolled no longer qualify for Medicaid because they earn more than the program’s income thresholds, indicating that they are currently employed. Health care providers and consumer advocates are reporting an increase in uninsured individuals, an indication that Coloradans disenrolling from Medicaid and CHP+ have not connected to employer sponsored coverage. Employers, please help Coloradans who are disenrolled from Medicaid enroll in your employer-sponsored health insurance. This open enrollment period is not just an opportunity, but a critical window to connect uninsured employees to health coverage options. People without coverage often delay necessary care, don’t treat chronic conditions, and don’t get the preventive care they should.
