Economic Update

The Bureau of Labor Statistics recently released February employment data for Colorado - it was not pretty. Unfortunately, Colorado YOY employment posted a decline of -9,100. On a positive note, year-over-year (YOY) employment for the healthcare sector increased by 12,000 and state government added 3,600.
The Census Bureau also announced that the 2025 Colorado population was revised lower. There was a decline in domestic and international net migration. The catch is that the state's job growth relies on net migration. The population growth is primarily in the metro areas. The population in thirty of the state’s sixty-four counties increased in 2025.
