
Ski Tuner/Driver
Our Ski Tuners/Drivers keep the gear in top shape and the operation moving. This role is hands-on and dynamic—you’ll be tuning skis and snowboards to keep both our rental fleet and guest gear performing at their best, while also making runs in company vehicles to pick up and return equipment at partner locations.
As a Ski Tuner/Driver, you’ll repair base damage, wax (infrared or buff), sharpen edges, mount and test bindings, and ensure every setup meets our high safety and performance standards. On the driving side, you’ll maintain professional habits on the road, stay organized for multiple pick-ups and drop-offs, and support teammates to keep nightly operations running smoothly.
This position involves overnight shifts only, may require weekends, and gives you the chance to join a fun, mountain-town crew.
Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to)
- Responsible for collecting and delivering equipment to various locations throughout the Vail Valley.
- Coordinate tracking documentation at pickup and drop off to ensure accuracy and prevent misplaced or lost equipment.
- Review tune tape and billing sheets to ensure the requested services are completed for customer and fleet tunes.
- Review all equipment for previous or severe damage and notify managers when service is not recommended.
- Mount bindings to skis and perform ASTM tests based on equipment needs
- Safely operate our state-of-the-art Montana Saphir 2 Pro robotic tuning machine (training provided)
- Safely operate a belt-waxer and other machinery required for the job (training provided)
- Inventory, mount, and label new skis and snowboards for the company’s rental fleet.
- Stay up to date with brand and industry related knowledge
- Maintain a clean and safe work area at the end of each shift
Skills/Requirements:
- Binding certifications for the following brands: Marker, Tyrolia, Salomon, Rossignol (training/certification program provided)
- Must be 18 years of age to work with machinery and perform overnight shifts
- Must be 24 years of age or older to meet company vehicle insurance requirements
- Valid Drivers License
- Clean Driving Record
- Work night shifts from 4pm through work completion (can be as late as 4am the following morning)
- Schedule may require holidays and weekend shifts
- Expected to arrive on time and ready to work.
- Ability and confidence to drive in ALL weather conditions at night
- Ability to work in a loud environment (noise canceling ear plugs/headphones provided)
- Strong communication skills
- Self-Motivated, detail oriented, team player
- Organized, clean and able to work in a shared work space
- This position requires the ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
