Background: 4 Eagle Senior Care (4ESC) is in its twelfth year of operation and is a Program

of Nonprofit 4 Eagle Foundation (4EF) supporting the Foundation’s Mission ‘loving and

serving others in the name of Jesus’...Love in Action! Services are provided to all people in

need regardless of race, creed or religious affiliation and are delivered through a dedicated

volunteer network. The Eagle Valley older adult population is expected to grow

exponentially over the next 10 years as the Baby Boomers of the Valley continue to age,

mirroring the trends of the USA overall.

Position Summary: Lead 4 Eagle Senior Care (4ESC) staff professional, reporting to the

Board Chair of The 4 Eagle Foundation, directing the 4ESC Volunteer Program Services to

the older adults of the Vail Valley with the express objective to allow these residents to ‘age

in place’ and remain in the Vail Valley. 4ESC strives to work in collaboration with other

related Eagle County Programs (Healthy Aging) and Non-Profits (Caregivers Connection,

Eagle County Paramedics Collaborative Initiative, Vail Health, etc.) and the Faith

Community to sustain and enhance program support services in the following areas:

• Food Insecurity

• Emotional and Spiritual Well-being

• Companionship, Connectedness and Enrichment

• Non-emergency Medical Transportation

The Director of Services plays a key role in making the Eagle River Valley a great place to

live and to age!

Key Responsibilities:

• Working with the 4EF Chair, establish a committed Advisory Board to oversee

services, support program focus, ensure results and solicit community engagement

• Work directly with Eagle County Healthy Aging to better understand how to align and

grow the services needed

• Work directly within the Faith Community to identify how 4ESC can support them

and they in turn can support 4ESC in serving the community

• Develop a recommended strategy to focus on the critical need for non-emergency

medical transportation which could involve volunteer and/or paid transportation

services.

• Develop a ‘Buddy’ program that would align each older adult in need with a

designated person(s) who would regularly check-in for ‘wellness checks’ to combat

isolation and helping to assess potential risks of emotional, cognitive or physical

decline

• Understand and arrange for the training necessary for the program volunteers to

deliver services before commencing the programs

• Liaison with other Community Programs around the state/country and leverage best

practices


• Participate in the quarterly Eagle County Older Adult Collaborative Initiative

• Work with relevant County, Public Safety and Legal teams to ensure that the 4ESC

program is safe and protective of both the volunteers and clients

• Assess and obtain the necessary systems and tools to support efficient

communication and program execution

• Establish a tracking and reporting approach that allows for monitoring, refinement

and reporting of program services, including quality of outcomes

• Identify funding necessary and work through 4EF and the Advisory Board to solicit

funding and grants as appropriate

Necessary Skills & Background Expertise:

• Experience with and ‘a heart for’ working with older adults

• Understands the issues and concerns of older adults as they strive to maintain their

independence, improve their quality of life, and age in place

• Knowledgeable and appreciation of age-related health issues – physical, cognitive

and emotional, or a willingness to learn.

• Ability to work toward and within a highly collaborative environment

• Strong judgement to assess how to engage and/or refer to other

service/professional providers to address a need at hand

• Excellent interpersonal skills in communication, listening, empathy and decision

making

• Good computer skills and organized in reporting and recordkeeping

• Spanish language skills are a plus


Compensation & Hours:

• As this is an evolving program, it is anticipated that initially this is 25-30 hours a

week program with potential to grow and/or augment with additional staff

• Compensation is hourly $25-$30 per hour depending on experience with a bi-weekly timesheet

• Flexible work hours

• Mileage reimbursement

• Office at The HUB with Computer provided
